A proud achievement for Hertfordshire Building Control
We are delighted to announce that Hertfordshire Building Control has won the Bricks & Mortar Partnership Award at The Bricks 2026.
The award recognises our work with LABC Warranty and the strength of the partnership we have developed to provide building control and structural warranty services to customers across the construction industry.
HBC CEO Gary Cass and Technical Director Les Ryder attended the awards ceremony at Kings Place in London, where comedian and event host Hal Cruttenden presented the award.

What is The Bricks?
Organised by LABC Warranty, The Bricks celebrate high standards across residential construction, recognising the developments, organisations and partnerships that demonstrate a commitment to quality, consistency and excellence.
Sites considered for the awards are identified through LABC Warranty’s surveyor network and its programme of site inspections. Alongside awards for developments of different sizes and tenures, the Bricks & Mortar Partnership category recognises collaboration between building control and structural warranty providers. Receiving this award is particularly meaningful because it reflects not just the outcome of one project, but the consistent effort involved in building a strong and effective working relationship.
Building control and structural warranty working together
For developers, contractors and design teams, coordinating building control and structural warranty requirements can add another layer of complexity to an already demanding construction programme. Although building control approval and structural warranty cover are separate services, both can involve the review of technical information, construction details and work taking place on site.
