The Hertfordshire Building Control Building Awards shine a spotlight on the very best in construction. Not only that, our focus goes beyond architectural aesthetics; we emphasise excellence in every aspect of construction and technical building control.
These awards serve as a platform to highlight outstanding achievements. They cover a diverse spectrum of building projects from major commercial developments to new homes, conversions, domestic extensions and sustainable development.
Considered Projects
Any building project completed between 1 January 2025 and 31 December 2025, for which we provided the Building Control Service, irrespective of size, may be considered for an award.
*Nominations for HBC Awards 2026 have now closed. There is still chance to nominate a person or site in the LABC awards. Nominations fot the LABC close on Friday 3rd July 2026.

Presentations
A certificate will be presented to each site or individual and all winners will be announced on the Hertfordshire Building Control website and social media.
The LABC Regional Awards 2026
The LABC Awards are open for nominations! The LABC Building Excellence Awards in 2026 is a staged process beginning with nominations made in each of our 12 regions. Hertfordshire is in the Central Region. These entries will be judged regionally, with winners then being judged for the national awards. Nominations closed on Friday 3rd July 2026.
There is one national award ceremony taking place in January 2027.

You have the option to add to your nomination and submit it to the LABC regional awards. The awards celebrate your achievements in the construction industry. They reward excellent buildings, outstanding companies, and partnerships and individuals that go that extra mile. LABC wants to award technical design and construction skills and focuses on well-built buildings that comply with the Building Regulations.
The network covers all local authorities in England and Wales. It is split into 12 regions, each of which holds its own regional awards. Hertfordshire falls under the Central Region along with Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire, Buckinghamshire, and Bedfordshire. The regional winners will be announced in September. Then the national awards evening will take place in London at the end of January 2027.
