New entrance joining two historical building
This was an architecturally interesting project with an aesthetically pleasing joining of a modern design within two historical buildings of different ages for use by the local community. It creates a new entrance with access to all parts of the building including new toilets, making all rooms accessible rather than two separate buildings.
Bunyon Baptist Church embarked on a transformative journey to create a new entrance, a project made possible through years of dedicated fundraising efforts by both the local church and the community. Despite being a relatively modest building project, the construction posed significant challenges due to its location between two existing buildings, limited accessibility, and the residential surroundings.
From its inception, the project faced financial constraints, which intensified during the construction phase amidst the backdrop of COVID-19 restrictions and widespread shortages of labour and materials, although we’re pleased to report that the project was completed within the contract sum.
