The ‘Building Futures Placemaking & Design Conference’ brought together public and private sector leaders to listen to a highly informed agenda of speakers. Presentations focused on the political aspirations for responsible and sustainable growth in Hertfordshire, some of the tools and policy available to help deliver it, and case studies illustrating some of the projects striving to deliver high quality, beautiful and sustainable places that enable Hertfordshire to thrive.
The theme of the day was “taking the next giant step for the Hertfordshire of tomorrow”

Lynne Ceeney, Hertfordshire County Council, Manager Hertfordshire LEADS (Landscape, Ecology, Archaeology, Design & Sustainability) lead a succession of expert speakers throughout the day.
In the evening the Awards recognised teams adopting best practices in sustainable design and construction across the county. They showcased and celebrated exemplar sustainable developments that demonstrate innovation, creativity, design quality and placemaking and which make a real difference.
