We’re delighted to welcome Esther Davies as the new Head of Human Resources for Hertfordshire Building Control and the wider Broste Rivers Group. Esther brings over 25 years of HR experience, including leadership roles in start-ups and regulated sectors like construction, finance, and insurance. We welcome her wealth of knowledge, a fresh perspective, and a passion for people to Broste Rivers.

From an early age, growing up in a lively and sociable family, Esther discovered the value of understanding different personalities and perspectives. It was this environment that first sparked her interest in people and ultimately led her into Human Resources.

A few words from Esther

I delight in meeting people, understanding what makes them tick. I’m passionate about supporting them in becoming the person they want to be and can be

That passion has shaped a long and fulfilling HR career. Esther began her journey in an SME, gaining hands-on experience while earning her Chartered CIPD qualification. Since then, she’s built and led high-performing HR teams. Delivering results in both standalone and strategic roles, and championing change to improve efficiency and effectiveness, especially in highly regulated industries.

Esther describes herself as a challenger of the status quo and thrives on spotting opportunities to do things better. She has a practical, people-focused approach that aligns perfectly with our values here at Broste Rivers.

Outside of work, Esther lives in North Wales with her husband, two children, and their beagle, Bingley. She loves travelling, exploring the outdoors, and keeping active at the gym. Her favourite film? The Sound of Music and yes, Austria (and the other film locations!) are firmly on her bucket list.

We’re excited to have Esther on board and look forward to the energy and expertise she brings. Welcome to the team, Esther!
