Last week, despite some particularly enthusiastic June weather, construction professionals from across Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire gathered at Tewinbury Farm Hotel for the Herts & Beds Constructing Excellence Awards 2026.
The annual awards celebrate the people, projects and organisations that are driving innovation, quality, sustainability and collaboration across the built environment. Hertfordshire Building Control and the wider Broste Rivers organisation were proud to support this year’s event as sponsor of the Residential Project of the Year category.

Recognising Outstanding Achievement
The awards showcased an impressive range of projects from across the region, highlighting the high standards being achieved throughout the construction industry.
We were particularly pleased to see Hertfordshire Constabulary Headquarters, delivered by Willmott Dixon, win the Innovation Award. Hertfordshire Building Control provided the building control service for this landmark project and it was fantastic to see the team’s achievements recognised.
Residential Project of the Year
As sponsor of the Residential Project of the Year category, Hertfordshire Building Control was delighted to present the award to projects demonstrating excellence in residential design, construction and delivery.
