Senior Building Control Surveyor

The Role

Our operations team are usually the first members of our staff who will have any interaction with our customers.  You will, therefore, be required to undertake training to understand the building control process prior to engaging with our customers as they book site visits, pay invoices and ask generic questions about the building control process.  Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Booking site visits on behalf of our customers;
  • Accepting and registering applications from customers and the associated payments;
  • Answering questions of a non-technical nature about building control matters;
  • Ensuring that our operating system is managed effectively and is kept up to date.

The Person

Our operations team staff are likely to have experience of managing customers.  Although experience of the construction industry is not essential it would be an advantage, however, we are far more interested in people who share our values and wish to put our customers first.   You will be able to demonstrate that you have excellent communication skills both written and verbal and be a competent user of a range of IT Systems.  You should have passed GCSE English and Maths. You will be expected to learn quickly and to aid this should be unafraid to ask questions and seek expert advice.  For people who wish to do so there is an opportunity to progress beyond the operations team and develop a career as a building control surveyor.


  • Package up to £22k per annum;
  • 25 days per annum plus bank holidays with additional days for long service;
